The Scriptの新曲「Rain」です。
前作から2年ぶりとなる次のアルバムからのファーストシングルです。

個人的にThe Scriptはとても好きなバンドで、
キャッチーな楽曲が多いですし、この曲は同じ失恋ソングでも「Breakeven」や「The Man Who Can’t Move」とは違って、盛り上がれる曲ですね！
前作とはどう変わっているのかという所にも注目です。

インタビュー和訳（Metro紙より）

次のアルバムはサウンド的にどのようにかわるのか、という質問に対し、

It’s definitely a progression…I think we have afforded ourselves a little bit of leeway. The past four records have been not the same sound but we’ve been progressing at a slow rate. It’s been two years since we had something out so there’s two years worth of progression in our music. I’m sure to a lot of people it might sound quite drastic at first but if they heard the 60 songs we’ve put out you’d hear a slower progression.

「それは確かに進歩したよ、、時間をかけて進めたと思うんだ。以前の４つのアルバムは同じサウンドではなかったけど、少しづつ進歩はしてたんだよ。前作から2年たったわけだけから、自分たちの音楽に２年分の発展があるんだ。多くの人にとって初めは変わって聞こえるかもしれないけど、でももし以前発表した６０曲を聴けば、少しの進歩がわかると思うよ。」

海外の反応

女性ファン：I want the script and onerepublic to work together.
The ScriptとOne Republicにはコラボしてほしいわ

ファン：I could care less about how this sounds. I get that bands need to evolve sound-wise. What I'm upset about is the lack of poetry in the lyrics that made me fall madly in love with this band years ago.
どんなサウンドかっていうのはおいておいて、このバンドが進歩しなくちゃいけないのは分かるよ。私が理解できないのは歌詞に詩的な要素がないことなんだ、何年も前に私が心底好きになったバンドのね

女性ファン：Give me back my old The Script!
昔のThe Scriptを返して！

女性ファン：Swear I'm the only one obsessed with this song🙌
誓うわ、この曲に夢中なのは私だけだって

女性ファン：t's very different and it is not going to be my favourite song but I still like it! It is catchy <3 Can't wait for the rest of the album!
前のとはとても違うし、お気に入りの音楽とまではいかないだろうけど、でもこの曲が好きだよ。とってもキャッチーだし、次のアルバムが楽しみだわ！

女性ファン：not bad but i prefer The Script with pop rock notes... waiting for other songs !
悪くはないんだけど、ポップロックのThe Scriptのほうが好きだな。まだ他の曲を待ってるわ

男性ファン：I don't see why this isn't the "old script" because I still hear the typical the script sound in it, and the lyrics are also really the script.
僕にはなんで”昔のThe Script”じゃないのかっていうのは分からないな。だって典型的なThe Scriptのサウンドはまだそこにあるし、歌詞だって本当にThe Scriptっぽいしね。

男性ファン：This doesn't sound like The Script that you used to know... but, this is so good!!! i was not ready for that new sound! It's so great that they comeback with a fresh beat!! Love it!
みんなが知ってるThe Scriptのサウンドではないけど、、でもこの曲は良いよね！この新しいサウンドは予想外だったけど、新鮮なビートで彼らがまた戻ってきてくれたのはとても素晴らしいよ！

前作以前の曲とは変わったため、それに関する否定的な意見がやや多かったです。
それでもまだ彼ららしさは表れているとの意見もありました。
